The WNBA's Indiana Fever play at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Pacers Sports & Entertainment

Indiana Fever

The WNBA’s Indiana Fever were founded in the league’s inaugural season in 2000. The Fever’s legacy took shape in 2001 with the draft of Basketball Hall of Fame legend Tamika Catchings. The team quickly became playoff mainstays culminating in a WNBA championship in 2012 under coach Lin Dunn and a team featuring Catchings, Katie Douglas, and Tully Bevilaqua. Today, the Fever are building a new generation of talent under coach Carlos Knox.

Fever Games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse

As one of the only NBA arenas designed specifically for viewing basketball games, Gainbridge Fieldhouse is often lauded as the most spectator-friendly arena in the league. Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, the Fieldhouse is steps away from hotels, restaurants, and bars. In addition to the Fever and the NBA’s Indiana Pacers, the Fieldhouse also regularly hosts the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Championships, NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament games, concerts, professional wrestling, and a myriad of other special events.

The Pacers play 36 games each year with half of those at home. Gainbridge Fieldhouse has 20,000 seats and 71 luxury suites.

Plan Your Visit

Thanks to its convenient location in downtown Indianapolis, finding parking for Gainbridge Fieldhouse is extremely convenient. In addition to the attached Virginia Avenue Parking Garage visitors can find nearby parking in a variety of lots and garages. Tickets for Fever games can be purchased through the Gainbridge Fieldhouse box office. The Fieldhouse offers a wide range of accessibility services to those needing special accommodation.

The Fieldhouse of the Future

Gainbridge Fieldhouse is currently undergoing major renovations. While most of the work inside the arena is complete, the spectacular new Bicentennial Unity Plaza is being constructed on the north side of the arena. Slated to be completed in 2023, the plaza will be an outdoor gathering space that features a basketball court during the summer and an ice-skating rink during the winter. Public art and community programming will make this space an iconic addition to this already spectacular facility. Please pardon dust during construction.
